Train station
Just 5 minutes from Vitasol Park, the Lagos train station is the last stop on the Algarve line, connecting this city to Vila Real de Santo António. Opened in 1922, it continues to be used by many tourists and locals.

Ponta da Bandeira Fort
Restored in the 1960s, it is an authentic ex-libris of the maritime fortifications of the old Lagos War Square. Place where there is a museum center alluding to the Portuguese Discoveries and which, with regard to history and archeology, has developed work aimed at safeguarding and promoting cultural heritage.

Private Hospital of São Gonçalo de Lagos

Santo Antonio Church
Built before 1707, destroyed in 1755 and rebuilt in 1769. Classified as a National Monument in 1924, it is characterized by the profusion of rich gilt woodwork. The walls (up to a height of 1.40m) are covered with tiles in blue and white, with muds, characteristic of the 18th century.

Santa Maria Church
Considered by the people as the Mother Church for having replaced that of Santa Maria da Graça, the main Renaissance portal, the busts of São Pedro and São Paulo and the images of Nossa Senhora da Assunção, from São Gonçalo stand out, among many other details. Slave Market
The first of its kind in Portugal, it is currently used for traveling exhibitions and was where, after 1444, some sales of slaves took place. The first floor was used as Casa da Vedoria and Alfândega, Casa da Guarda and Military Prison.

BEACHES

 

Camilo Beach
one of the "stars" of the Costa d 'Oiro de Lagos. It is small, in fact, but its shell shape, strategic position and natural attributes, end up placing it in the world elite of "wonderfully unique" beaches.


Meia Praia
With about five kilometers, the Meia Praia beach stretches between the Lagos marina and the Ria do Alvor. Access can be made by car, train, bus or boat and at its eastern end, less frequented, the guarantee of peace is complete.


Dona Ana Beach
Despite being much smaller, Dona Ana beach is also a good option for families. Here, the rocks on the beach guarantee good shadows and the calm waters are conducive to diving and playing, for swimmers of all ages.
